Our policy work is based on our extensive experience in sexual and reproductive health, within the context of equity and social justice, and our experiences working directly with teachers, school districts, and state and local education agencies.
At the national level, Cardea collaborates with partner organizations in developing practical sexual health education guidance that is foundational to the development of effective policies. At the state level, Cardea is able to support policy development by providing insight into issues impacting districts, teachers, and parents, then supporting the direct implementation of adopted policies, through convening peer-learning communities, technical assistance and training. Navigating the Politics of Public Health: Finding Common Ground in Support of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health
In this four-part recorded webinar series, participants will learn how to advocate in support of adolescent sexual and reproductive health with conservative-leaning policymakers and key stakeholders, including:
- strategies for knowing your audience to understand their background and perspective,
- opportunities for finding common ground to work toward a shared goal,
- leveraging the media to increase your public awareness, and
- tactics for identifying and cultivating key messengers and mobilizing your community.

Since the start of the "Me Too" movement, more teachers are looking for ways to incorporate consent into sex education. This training will help participants recognize language changes and immediate shifts they can make in existing content and identify various tools, resources, materials, and activities that could be used in classroom related to consent.
